Local Phuket Food That You Should Try























Phuket is not only a well known place for having nice beaches, but also has got plenty of restaurants serving various kinds of food. With a long run and full of a combination culture of Thai, Malaysia, Portuguese, therefore, Phuket offers lots of yummy local dishes that visitors should not miss.
O-Tao is a dish that made from fried oysters with taro, eggs, and dissolved flour. Served with fresh beansprouts on side. Namphrik Koong Siep is a hot shrimp paste sauces blended with roasted shrimps.
Namphrik Koog Sot is a shrimp paste blended with fresh shrimp, red onion, chilies and seasoned with lemon juice. The local Phuket people have it with rice or Kanom Chin.
Kanom Chin is Thai rice noodles normally eaten with curry soup. It also can served with variety of curries. Loba is a pig's entrails cooked with spices and fried to be eaten with fried soybean curd and a dip.
Homok is steamed curried fish with vegetables wrapped in banana leaf. It can be eaten plain or with cooked rice. Phuket also famous for fresh seafood such as fishes, oyster, crabs, prawns and lobsters. You can find seafood restaurants everywhere in Phuket.
Noodles are cooked in various styles. Mi hokkian or Mi Hun is fried with fresh shrimps, pork, shellfish and green cabbage. Mi Sapam is topped with seafood and gravy. Mi Hun Pachang is fried vermicelli eaten with pork spare rib soup.
Tao So is a small kind of moon cakes and a specialty of Phuket which tourist popularly buy and take home. O-eo is jelly made of banana and a kind of seaweed.
